(Probably Stupid) Project Question

Hello,
At the risk of sounding like an airhead, Paige or anyone help me out here.  So, I checked my completed banner ad file size and it says "308 KB", or 313, 344 bytes.  And the maximum for the leaderboard on our sheet says "40K"....so, am I okay or is my file way huge?  Sorry I should probably know this but I just want to make sure... I tried very hard to compress everything and keep it simple so if my file is too big I don't know what to do...thanks guys

308kb is waaaaay to big. That 40k requirement means 40kb. Which probably means you're using a lot of bitmap files instead of vectors. You're gonna have to trim that down a lot to fit the size requirement. If you have some bitmaps, try livetracing them in illustrator and copy/pasting them to flash.

crap...that was what I was afraid of...I've tried some tricks to reduce file size but I guess I will have to experiment some more... thanks though

my flash was 1mb....but when I save it to .swf and use "save and compact" it became a 24k .swf

I hope this is right and will help you...since...Paige didn't say we have to use the 40k for Original flash...
