sound converter.

in case anyone needs to take a itunes file or any oy other type and convert it to a format flash can use, try out Switch, by NCH software, i got it free and was cake to use. Made it super easy for me to take an itunes song and quickly convert to a flash usable format like mp3.

Virtual Class Today

Hi all-

My husband had the flu or cold last week, and has passed it on to me. So - we will have virtual class today (I think 460 will be open for open lab if you need to work). Also, I will move our project 01 critique to next Wednesday, 3 Feb. On Monday, I want to see tons of progress! Thanks, and I am looking forward to seeing what you have done.

AE Tutorial I'm Using for the Vid- Very Cool

I am going to speed up the fade and overall movement so it creates quick transitions that react nicely to the tempo of the song.

The tutorial is here

Here are some of the inspirational videos I searched online for this coming project. A lot of them using stop motion technique.

INCUBUS - Dig
I really like this animated story, not too literal but told the story of this song.

animated music videos i like...

these are all actually really old and extremely low budget but i like them

Madvillian - "all caps"

El-p - "stepfather factory"

Quasimoto - "Come On Feet" - extremely low budget video, i dont know why but i effing love this video...

Flying Lotus - "Parisian Goldfish" - since we are on the subjeect of "pervy" and "innapropriate" - this is a video one of my favorite producers whipped together in response to people always requesting him to "play something i can dance to" while he was DJ'ing at "clubs". it gets pretty graphic...

this is the only music video i can think of that is actually done in Flash.

i think i have posted one of these before...

I've seen several sites lately, that seem to be adopting this new style of "all on one page" , like the screen becomes a huge surface to navigate about.
I think this is done in flash...it's gorgeous. Gotta figure out how he/she did it. No matter what style/design I choose for "my" site, I want to incorporate illustration, maybe a little photography, but this site was just realllly nice.
